Our History
1952: Irene Smith opened Model College of Hair Design on Hennepin Avenue in downtown Minneapolis. Irene and her son, Bruce, operated the school until they relocated to the St. Cloud location.
1972: Bruce and Diane Smith moved Model College of Hair Design to St.Cloud, Minnesota. The college was located on the corner of 8th and Division. Over the next 30 years the college added eight houses to accommodate student housing needs. Andy Smith, along with his wife Stephanie, now handle all the day-to-day operations.
2009: Model College of Hair Design building was torn down and rebuilt to be one of the Midwest's finest educational facilities.
I enjoyed going to the Model College of Hair Design and I met a lot of People with the same creative interests. It was a good experience and fun too. Many students are from my area, Duluth, all of which helped in becoming comfortable at college.
